Gutenberg Project App Reviews

It is all I wanted to do with books

I always wanted to read the best books ever published in human history. But books are just like trees in a forest, most are of little use. With this app I get some of the best book recommendations. The list alone is worth the downloading.

Gutenberg project is the Best

This app is best for reading books, simple and intuitive. The page turning is the closest to the feeling of turning a physical page, better than any app I have ever used. However it does lack the rich features such as searching and note taking. The paid version is actually cheaper.

CUZ youre perfectly honest

Knowing what, the "qua", Knowing (that). Is knowing that way which we arrived at here. Its not some spooky illuminati Masonic davinci brown gizmo. Its like books, and knowing how to read them "actively"

ThanQ

Omg this is so cool I remember downloading books on my laptop now I have ipad and the luxury of Gutenberg App

I owe so much to project Gutenberg

I crossed my fingers and looked in the App Store just HOPING there would be an app which included SOME of project Gutenbergs titles and audio from their full website ...I am sooo excited to find this DEDICATED app with seemingly ALL of their wonderful content! Thanks ever so!!

great for readers

Works great except that I cant ge rid of the floating fanfiction ad even when I have the app.

Best Ebook Reader for Gutenberg & etal

Not only can you easily search and download the available books that you are interested in, but the reader will organize the chapters of the book and create a nice looking table of contents. Nice & beautiful presentation or layout. Easy to read. The best.

Access Denied

Most buttons go to an "email a friend about Gutenberg" page or an Access forbidden page.

Waste of time

Books do not completely show up in this app. Or there are too many redirects. What a pain.

My favorite app

Thank you PG for this incredible gift. I went from being a tv potato to an avid reader. The most used app on my iPad by far..

So incredible

To have all the classics at my fingerprints with one tap--holy crap. Genius, and well executed.

Needs Work

Pop up ups for every action? books open at the end? Accessing the site through a browser is less frustrating.

Tried and true

Tried a few Gutenberg Apps. This is the only one that lets me enjoy the reading. My suggestion is download a few apps and find the one that works for you. This is the best app by a large margin from my own experience.

Great app

Dont bother with other wannabe Gutenberg apps go with this one its the best

Simply the best

tried many Gutenberg Apps, none came even close .

Disappointing

why does this application not allow you to read the description of the book? It jumps ahead right away to the body of the book. And theres no way back to see the description. This is a major flaw. I would like to be able to read about what the book is that I am looking at.

TERRIBLE UPDATE

DELETED ALL MY OFFLINE BOOKS AND AUDIOBOOK! --- PREVIOUS REVIEW Ive listened to hours of high quality audiobooks with this app and keep copies of several classic books in my pocket. The interface is well worth the 30 seconds it takes to learn it.

Not gonna pay for free public domain books

This app used to be pretty good. I mean, it was glitchy and would often lose my place in the middle of a 500 page book, which was a huge pain. But I could live with it. But now reading is limited unless you get the paid version. Um, no. I will not pay somebody to read free, public domain books. Deleting the app as soon as I hit send.

GREAT reading/ebook app

Lots of classics are FREE! I have iphone 6 and easy reading screen!! Love it!

Poor functionality

Every time you touch the screen wrong it flips the page around and sets you back to page one. Bookmark seems to work OK, but every time you use any in app function it sets you back to page one. Then you have to leave the book, remembering to say no when it tries to get you to bookmark your progress on page one), and re-enter the book to get back to your bookmark.
